What genre of game is this, exactly?
This game is a futuristic horror and mafioso game. Dark and mature themes make this an adult roleplay. Drugs, sex, and other such things will be plot points, and therefore players must be older than sixteen to play.

Who can I apply for in this game?
Any humanoid character from any published fandom, within reason. We reserve the right to reject applications based on validity of a fandom, but will only exercise this under extreme circumstances. No original characters or animals allowed.

How did my character get here?
This is an AU game, therefore your character has lived in this world for their entire life. You will write a reasonable alternative history for your character in the application process. They can be permanent residents of the city, or newly arrived in Italy.

What is the goal for our characters in this game?
Plainly: Survival. Beyond that, you may do as you please. Plot will be created as the game moves along, but this is a player-driven and interaction-driven game with plot as an additional driving force.

What kind of jobs can my character have?
This is entirely dependent on you and the general distribution of jobs available. We don't want too much of any single career, though we would like your character to have a job suited to their skills. They can be forced into positions, or obtain careers on the black market. Slavery is also a valid option, though it would be preferred that purchasers be other played characters within the game. This would be a limited position, as well, but these would be considered dependents and would have to be supported by their owners.

What restrictions are placed on my character in this world?
Your characters are not gods, and science cannot accomplish all things. Vampires can have their strengths, other paranormal creatures can have their powers, but there is a limit to power, and there is always a weak point. Discuss these with moderators if you have difficulty moderating your character's abilities.

What happens when my character dies?
They can come back, naturally. They simply lose- and perhaps gain- something along the way. The first death's loss will be discussed with the first person to die. It is tied into the plot, and contributes to the dark aspect of the game.

What are these criminal organizations in the city?
There are several, but the main two are the Mortella and the Collefata families. These mafioso are the masters of the city proper. They keep order within their ever-changing borders, but this is a hierarchy of blood and loyalty. The prostitutes, drugs, and people belong to their respective families. The government will try to interfere; the civilians can try to remain neutral, if they please.

A sample of what your character would write/say on an online forum. The main community is a means of communication for the characters as the internet is for us.

If you would like to wait for a short while, we will be providing a sample application in the near future.

In the application, there's a field for 'Rank'. Is this a specific position in the mafia, a job/occupational position or something else entirely? All it says on the app page is "What rank is your character?" and I'm a little unsure of what to place in this field.

Apologies, we forgot to put the link in for the ranks page. You can find the explanations of the ranks and openings available here.

Ah~ Thanks!

For a rank that requires mod permission - is that something we should speak to you about before submitting the app, or should we put something down and then just be like, PERMISSION REQUESTED!!! or something else I haven't thought of?

I'm still trying to figure out which rank I'd like to try for, but you know, questions before plans. :D

Yes, that would be best; if the history and character are suitable for the position, and your quality of writing is high, then permission will be granted.
